Shiny Pokémon Distributions
I don't need to explain what Shiny Pokémon are to you, do I? They're a pallate-swapped version of Pokémon that have no other differences. Same stats, same abilities, same moves, etc. They tend to be hard to collect, with statistical odds of getting a shiny Pokémon varying from one in a few hundred to one in a few thousand depending on the game.
Sounds pretty hard, doesn't it?
Well, luckily for us, there have been plenty of instances of The Pokémon Company being kind enough to give us free copies of Shiny Pokémon; in fact, as of writing, a total of sixty-eight different Pokémon have been given shiny distribution events over the past however many years! Not counting evolving any of these Pokémon, of course. Most of these events have expired, but with the use of time machines, trade groups, and less ethical methods if those float your boat, you too could have access to these sixty-eight Pokémon!
Here's a chart of each shiny Pokémon we have received over time and which games they were distributed in. This chart is sorted by National Pokédex Number, so you can either search for a given Pokémon's National Dex number or use your browser's Search feature to look for a specific Pokémon.
Fun facts and statistics at the end because why not. I like math.

Fun Facts
- Currently, there are sixty-eight different Pokémon that have received shiny distributions. However, if you were to include their evolved forms, you would gain an additional twenty-three shinies, bringing our new total to ninety-one shiny Pokémon through event distributions only. That's 8.88% of the entire roster of Pokémon!
- Twenty-eight Legendary Pokémon were given shiny distributions.
- Sub-Legendary Pokémon received eleven of those shiny distributions: Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Silvally, Tapu Koko, Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini.
- Main Legendary Pokémon received seventeen of those shiny distributions: Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Solgaleo, Lunala, Necrozma, Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus.
- Of all the Legendary Pokémon that received event distributions, only three are still currently shiny locked outside of those events: Zacian, Zamazenta, and Eternatus.
- Six Mythical Pokémon received shiny distributions.
