I'm Ruki. Welcome to Rukinations.

I'm an avid gamer that mostly plays RPGs and board games with an interest in math and statistics. I've been playing RPGs in general as long as I can remember and started playing Pokémon competitively in Sword & Shield. I also like game theory and strategy in general, as well as an interest in note taking and stationery. Rukinations is where I store my thoughts and recollections on games and study alike.

I started Rukinations first to be an archive of my notes. The name "Rukinations" is a portmanteau of "Ruki" and "Ruminations" (meaning "deep thoughts on a topic"). One of the first notes I recompiled into HTML and uploaded was the Shiny Event Distribution, a guide to which Pokémon have had a Shiny Gift event at some point and when those events took place. Soon, I began uploading team breakdowns and recaps from Pokémon Legends: Z–A Ranked Seasons, where I began experimenting with how HTML and CSS can personalize a team sheet and the rumination experience.

Other Interests

On top of general stationery and note taking, I also collect fountain pens. I have a good number of fountain pens at my disposal (including dip pens), but I think the coolest fountain pen in my collection is a vintage Mabie-Todd Blackbird. If you're into reality competition shows, this is also likely the pen used on The Traitors during each night's murder.

I also enjoy watching reality competitions like Big Brother (U.S. and International Formats) and The Traitors. If you visit my Twitter page during one of the bigger show's runs, you'll probably catch me tweeting about fights taking place or awful game moves. Not that I can do better, but that's the beauty of watching from a couch rather than a turret.

Finally, I'm also an avid reader and writer. I doubt any of my writing projects will end up on here or on Twitter, but I occasionally talk about books that I'm reading. Some of my favorite stories over the years include Battle Royale by Koushun Takami, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (I am not debating the two), Ring by Koji Suzuki, and Umineko no Naku Koro Ni by Ryukishi07.

If you need to contact me, the best place to contact me would be on Twitter @RukiWasHere, though I do have other social media listed to the right if you don't use Twitter (I get it; Twitter is painful sometimes). Feel free to send me a message on one of those systems, or tag me in a post if you just want to say "Hey!"

I do not accept e-mail correspondence at this time.
